How to Perform Pooja on Shani Pradosham
Shani Pradosh, or Sani Pradosham, is the Pradosha Vrata falling on Shanivar (Saturday). Pradosh is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Shaniwar, or Saturday, is dedicated to Shani, one of the Navgrahas. Shani is widely believed to be a troublemaker and it is believed that fasting and praying on Pradosh day will help in keeping the harmful effects of Shani away. The Pradosh on October 31, 2009 and November 14, 2009 falls on a Saturday and is a Shani Pradosh.

Procedure to follow on Shani Pradosham by Sri Narendra Babu Sharmaji:
  1. Offer Bilva Archana to Lord Shani Bhagwan Temple. After Archana ask for few Bilva leaves back and bring it to home.
Keep these leaves in your Cash Box.
Put some leaves in the over head tank.
While preparing Chatni put few leaves in it, which is good for health.
While drinking water drop few leaves in it.
Keep these leaves below the pillow, for people who are bedridden.

Pradosh, or Pradosham, falls on the 13th day (during the waxing and waning phase of moon) in a traditional Hindu lunar calendar. It is believed that Lord Shiva and Parvati are in playful mood during this period and therefore they will readily fulfill the wishes of the devotees.

The Pradosh on November 14, 2009 between 3:45 to 5:00pm falls on a Saturday and is a Shani Pradosh. Guruji asked to follow above procedure between 3:45 to 5:00 pm in Lord Shani Bhagwan Temple.

It is believed that people under the bad influence of Shani can escape it by praying to Shiva on the day.
