- Early morning you should wake in Brahma muhurta, approximately one and a half hours before sunrise. Wash/Freshen yourself.
- After freshen up yourself, you should clean/water the front of your house. Dont put Rangoli/Kolam.
- After having bath, you should go again and put Rangoli/Kolam.
- After putting the rangoli/kolam, light the deepam/lamp in the pooja room.
- Dont light ghee lamp everyday.
- After lighting the deepam/lamp and offering your prayers you should go to kitchen and light the stove.
- Dont keep milk first, you should cook rice(annam) first and after cooking rice put one spoon of ghee and offer it to lord i.e keep it in the pooja room.
- Before cooking chant this verse "Patneem manoramam dehi, mano vruthanu sareenim,
Tharinim durga samsara sagarasya kuloth bhavam". - While keeping milk chant this Laksmi mantra verse "Lakshmi Ksheera Samudra Raaja Tanaya

Meaning: Goddess Lakshmi, who is the daughter of the king of the ocean of milk, whose abode is Srirangam (with Lord Ranganatha), who is served by all the divine ladies in heaven, who is the guiding light for the world, who has obtained the sustained (continued, everlasting) glance (Grace) from Brahma, Indra and Shiva, whose abode is the three worlds (Bhu, Bhuva, Suvaha) - I offer my prostrations to Thee, the beloved of Lord Krishna (Mukunda). - Dont give Dahi (Hindi) / Thayir (Tamil) / Milk Curd or Yogurt (English) to anyone in the evening because it is form of Goddess Laksmi.
