In this post you will come to know about food habits.
- How we should eat our food everyday?
We should eat our food like Royal Man's Meal in the Morning ; Middle Man's Meal in the Afternoon and Poor Man's Meal in the Night.
- Can we use spoons or forks to eat?
No, we should not use spoons or forks to eat, avoid as much as possible.
Always use your own right hand to have your food.
The traditional way of eating (in India) is to use only the right hand. Even natural left-handers are trained to eat with the right hand only, right from the childhood. Occasionally, in some segments of the society, use of both hands to eat is permitted on specific counts, like when a piece of Indian bread ("Roti"/ "Chapati") is too hard to tear with a single hand. While eating with the right hand, left hand is used for self-serving of food and for taking a glass of water.
- Can we eat in standing posture or moving here and there?
No, we should not eat our breakfast or lunch or dinner in standing position or moving here and there.
- You can eat food off the dining table or by sitting on floor.
The traditional Indian way of eating is by squatting on the floor. Mats or wooden planks are at times used for seating. Guruji Shri Narendra Babu Sharma insists on the above.
Eating with hands off the dining table is also quite acceptable in case who cannot sit on the floor due to some problems.
- Can we have our food while watching Television?
No, we should not have our food while watching Television or listening to music or playing with cellphones. First finish with your TV and then have your food or have your food and then go to watch the TV. But Don't do both, at the same time. We should not have any sort of entertainment while having food.
